that’s why my six-word memoir would be, give or take 6 of the above words.

seriously though, i love the concept of this exercise. hemingway may have been a mean drunk but he was always up for a challenge. as someone who is (clearly) not concise and loves reading too much into every word, i think it’s fascinating to see how one arranges so few words to form a fitting metaphor for his entire life. no other medium offers so much insight about its creator in so little content. it’s that personalization that makes me prefer my soundbites memoir-style rather than fiction, but i certainly enjoy a thought provoking plot line as much as the next girl.
some other contenders for me:
- i have made excellent bad decisions.
- FUCK! i shouldn’t have said that.
- love shiny things, champagne and noise.
- i’m a romantic at heart, mostly.
